The Maritime Indaba 2023 is Southern Africa’s premier conference and exhibition for the maritime industry, covering the full spectrum of services and products for the sector and showcasing the best that both the commercial maritime and defense maritime business sectors have to offer.
Taking place on 24 & 25 May 2023, the event brings together top-level players in both the general maritime and maritime defence industries for high-level discussions and engagements on developments in new technologies for the maritime industry, as well as the protection and promotion of South Africa’s maritime assets. Day 1: 24 May 2023 – Maritime Commercial Conference and Exhibition
- High-level discussions and engagements on the latest technologies and innovations in marine equipment, materials and systems to promote the conservation of our oceans.
- A unique platform for innovation, market developments, conservation and networking in the commercial maritime space.
- Encourage debate around the adoption and integration of the sustainable use of marine resources.
- The two-day conference and exhibition hosted annually in Simon’s Town for more than 1000 delegates, also includes product demonstrations on the harbour, a cocktail function onboard a frigate and high-level dinner for VIPs and sponsors
- VIP cocktail party on board the SA Navy Frigate in Simons’ Town Harbour.
Day 2: 25 May 2023 – Maritime Defence Conference and Exhibition
- Brings together top-level players in the maritime defence industry for high-level discussions and engagements on the protection and promotion of South Africa’s maritime assets.
- The platform explores the South African strategy for the protection of our seas and oceans.
- Help realise the potential of South Africa’s ocean economy.
- Encourage debate around growing the coastal surveillance sector and integration of security services.
- Delegates hear first-hand from the Chief of Navy as well as the Minister of Defense and Military Veterans about government spending in the sector, the Defense Budget Vote to Parliament, and updates on the Oceans Economy.
- Gala dinner, hosted by the Chief of Navy, onboard the SA Navy’s Frigate.
